Today was a beautiful day for a sports day! The whole school met at the fields for a morning full of fun!

I loved how the groups (grade levels) were mixed. The older ones were patiently helping the younger ones and that alone was priceless.

Maci was just thrilled she could wear her new summer shorts and sport her first soccer team t-shirt.

Mary Kate had more fun dancing to the upbeat music during the games!

And this also happened to be my most humiliating day in Holland. The younger kids and I were not on bikes today. We were in the car and on the way home I ended up going down a bike lane. I was stuck. I couldn’t move backwards or forwards because I was surrounded by bicyclers. People were laughing and giggling and I am sure thinking, “How did you end up here?” I honestly didn’t know how I got there. I have never turned down that path since we moved here. We had to wait in the car while everyone we just saw at the field passed us by. It was such a great moment. Lance was so grateful he took the bike that day. Lesson learned and a little laughter for the books. Way to go Mom.

  1. Awesome! Sounds like everyone had a super fantastic time! I love the idea that the kids are mixed in with the older ones, too! That’s how they learn.
