speelklei, koffie, sinaasappelsap, lezing, bordspel

Come join me in learning five new Dutch words with a Five Favorites post this Wednesday! What I love most about linking up with Hallie at Moxie Wife , is how I always seem to break out along with Maria von Trap in the Sound of Music, “These are a few of my favorite things…”

This tiny speelklei or play-dough sets is one of our favorites! We found it at the Action, a store similar to a Dollar Tree in the states. These miniature cookie cutters would not be sold in most American stores, but the girls have outgrown putting small toys in their mouth, so mom approves. This has been known to keep little ones occupied for up to 30 minutes and 1 hour if mom stops to try and pretend taste testing their creations.

European koffie in tiny teacups…what’s not to love? This very well might show up in more than one Five Favorites post.

Freshly squeezed sinaasappelsap or orange juice is our most loved morning drink! Somehow the boys think it tastes better when they have a hand in it.

I found this photo on my phone taken by our seven year old. I found it and fell in love. I love lezing or reading. This was taken back in the fall when the weather was beautiful to eat our brood en kaas (bread and cheese) and read aloud at the park during lunch. They were listening to this silly Beatrix Potter classic, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin.

Farm-Opoly is a family favorite bordspel or boardgame! Sometimes we can get attached to screen-time on our favorite devices, but when we break away and make a special time for playing the old fashioned way our hearts our full!

  1. Haha, I love that those Dutch words make me laugh! I wonder if I ever went to Holland if I’d just be laughing all the time…I’d be laughing at my attempts to communicate at the very least!

  2. These are all so fun! Thank you for sharing!

  3. How are we farm people and NOT the proud owners of Farm-opoly??? This is a travesty. I am on Amazon pronto after I post this! (p.s. LOVE your blog – how creative!! And, the design is fabulous!)
